Ryan Tuercks Toyota Stout

The PSC enabled Ryan to drive the Stout to it's full potential.

Precise steering control for a Ryan Tuercks SEMA Toyota Stout build.

In late 2022, Ryan Tuerck partnered with Toyota TRD and Mobil1 to build a tube chassis Drift truck. The Toyota Stout has been featured at a ton of events, including SEMA.

Initially, Ryan decided to use an all electric Corvette C7 steering rack, but after having tons of issues, decided to revert to a Hydraulic Corvette C6 rack paired with the Hang Tight PSC and the OEM Dodge Hydraulic Electric steering pump.

The results speak for themselves, and the truck has had reliable power steering since installing the PSC.

The Installation

After attempting to make a Corvette C7 electric rack function for years to no avail, Ryan decided to wind back the clock and go with a Corvette C6 hydraulic rack paired up with an OEM Dodge electric hydraulic pump. The installation was straight forward, as the C6 rack has the same mounting requirements as the C7 rack. The pump was mounted on the lower frame rail in front of the engine (out of the crash zone of course!), with the PSC mounted in the interior of the truck. This made serviceability a breeze and kept everything contained.

Ryan elected to control the PSC with a potentiometer, but has plans to switch to PWM control from the onboard MoTec ECU powering the truck.

I can finally drive the truck the way it was meant to be built.
